Every day 1,500 women die throughout the world
due to childbirth complications, 99% of them in developing
countries. Bangladesh ranks number 49 of all countries in the maternal mortality rate. 375 out of 100,000 women die due to childbirth and only 13.4% of all deliveries are assisted by midwives. Lack of available maternal health services at and around birth is one of the contributing factors to the high maternal mortality (www.who.org). The neonatal mortality rate is 36 per 1000 live births which is very high compared to the United States 7 per 1000 live births.
My passion is to help prevent this from happening through the use of my midwifery skills. Midwives bypass all societal, socio-economic, spiritual, and language barriers to help those that need care.
My short term goal is to return to the US in August to take my national board exam. My long term goal is return to Asia, this time in Bangladesh and utilize midwifery to help the people and to share God's love with them. Please partner with me through your monetary and prayer support to bring me home and then back to SE Asia and to help prevent unneeded deaths of women and children.
Thank you so much for your financial support and your prayers. May God bless you greatly.
