Hello our names are Fancy and Jerrica, we are 7 year old twin girls. This weekend when we visited our mommy we ask her this, "mommy why do we have to go back to dad's why can't we just stay with you?"
This is the same question that has continuously been asked over and over now for the past four years. My answer to my girls is that mommy is working on this I will not give up until you are home.
Our story is stemmed by countless visits to the court house since 2007. My girls were with me always in the beginning no problems life was good in raising all my six children. There came a time when the father had asked for me to move in and live with him and I declined him because of his past criminal record and present affiliation with drugs of course I opted out. In doing so has caused me many financial burdens number one being, lack of hiring the right representation to bring my girls home, in which has failed by hiring the wrong attorneys. I have hired five attorneys since this all came about in July of 2007. I was content for a while because I had my girls at all times and was able to oversee them and there upbringing, I felt safe. Till once again I was being served again for full custody, this continued and he was going full force because I still refused to live with him. I continued to search for the right attorney thinking that I, being a good mom, teacher, and no type of criminal record would supersede that of a criminal drug and assault record he has had for the past twenty three years. Well I was wrong, in the court system today, (so I have observed and experienced first hand) that if you do not have the money to go full fledge and hire a so called "bulldog" for an attorney then you will loose. I spent a thousand here, two thousand there, twenty five hundred in between, and hundreds and thousands myself all in which my family and friends all helped with, not to mention my retirement. All this in hopes to ensure my girls to return home. I have not only lost my children, money, but my dignity as well. Though what I have not lost is my love for God in which gives me the strength to have hope, faith and love that there will be the means for this to come about.
