it was almost one year ago that, thanks to your kind and generous donations, our Memorial was unveiled! We now need to buy a wreath of flowers to be laid at the Memorial on Veterans Day.

Every year, on Veterans Day, we take TIME TO REMEMBER. Following the tradition in France, His Excellence Alexis Andres, Consul General of France, will lay a wreath of flowers at the feet of the Memorial during the Veterans Day ceremony. The ceremony will include a lecture by Professor Anthony Branker, who taught Jazz at Princeton University for 28 years until he retired. Professor Branker will honor the memory of musician military, and in particular, the legacy of Jazz legend Lt. James Reese Europe.

DID YOU KNOW? 100 years ago, the summer of 1919 was called "The Red Summer" because of a rise in lynchings, due to the resentment of the population against Africain-American soldiers returning from Europe. You can learn more here .
