100% of monies raised by this crowdfunder will be split equally between three local fire brigades in the Wollombi Valley: Bucketty, Laguna and Wollombi. Your donation will enable these brigades to purchase the equipment, resources and supplies they need.
There remain enormous, out of control bushfires burning across the Wollombi Valley and surrounding national parks. Our community and the beautiful valley we all live in has been under threat for weeks.
For more than a month now, our local RFS teams have been working to keep us safe, dozing containment lines in preparation and backburning when and where possible. Once the blaze roared up to our door steps, the RFS began fighting the fires on a property by property basis. The local RFS are our friends and neighbours volunteering their time to their community. Day after day. Night after night. They continue to place themselves in the middle of these terrible conditions and harms way to keep all of us and our properties safe. This includes those who continue to respond to all emergencies and those 'behind the scenes' coordinating and supporting this massive effort.
The effort these teams all go to for our community is without parallel: huge gratitude and respect to them all.
Many in our valley feel helpless and want to contribute something to the efforts being made. This crowdfunder is something we can all get behind to support our local RFS heroes and heroines. All donations large and small will have an impact.

Once the crowdfunding is completed, all monies will be directly deposited to the RFS brigades.
