I found out I had liver cirrhosis in 2008, just one year after becoming an RN. I have been tested for every illness and it has yet to be determined why I have cirrhosis. I was recently placed on the liver transplant list and am awaiting a call that would change my life forever. Please find it in your heart to assist me with the financial debt that I have aquired while preparing for my potential transplant. I am someones daughter, someones wife, someones mom whom needs help during this most difficult time in her life.
Update: My mother recently recieved her life changing gift of a new liver on March 22nd. She is making amazing progress and has made it out of Trauma ICU.
We have met with our social worker and transplant coordinator today and have discovered that the free housing (7 rooms worth) is full and currently has 3 people on the waiting list not including us.
They explained to us that they needed to have a hotel for a minimum of 4 weeks and it has to be a sanitary environment close to the hospital within a mile or two which leaves us very little options.
Our family had to sign a contract stating that we would be off of work a certain amount of time being primary care givers. My mother and father are asking for any donation of any size, to help them in this time of need. Thank you for your consideration.
