The Victoria Rose Fund

Donation protected
The Victoria Rose Fund was created in 2010 by Victoria's brother Mike. Victoria was 21 years old when she began battling Brain Cancer. In September of 2011, she was rushed to the emergency room from feeling excruciating pain in the back of her head as well as dizziness and extreme nausea. She was airlifted to Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia where the Neurosurgeon performed a 12-hr brain surgery where they were able to remove her tumor in its entirety. Unfortunately, it was malignant, and later finding out during surgery that some of the cancer cells fell into the cerebral fluid in her spine. Victoria was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (a childhood cancerous brain tumor).

Her treatments consisted of radiation, chemotherapy, proton therapy (targeted radiation), and multiple brain, spine, and ovary surgeries/procedures at Jefferson University Hospital, Penn Medicine, and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

This not-for-profit charity initially started out specifically to raise money for Victoria's medical expenses and care, but as she began to feel better in remission in 2012, she decided to switch the donations over to helping local families suffering financially, physically, and mentally from all types of cancer. Along with her family, friends, and supporters this charity sponsors annual benefits in honor of the cancer fighter and his/her family that is suffering from all aspects of this devastating disease. They also donate throughout the year to individuals and other similar funds and organizations.

OUR MISSION
To help local families that are struggling emotionally, physically and, financially from all aspects of a cancer diagnosis. We strive to raise money for these families through our annual benefits, all while promoting awareness of all types of cancer.

PAY IT FORWARD CONCEPT
The concept of "pay it forward" should be undertaken with a selfless spirit. Basically, when a person is doing a kind deed he doesn’t expect anything in return. There are many organizations that encourage the concept of "pay it forward" anonymously. People donate money or perform acts for another person's benefit without coming into the limelight. Instead, the beneficiary is told to adhere to the concept. By doing a good deed with the philosophy of "pay it forward", one can only hope to multiply and grow the chain of good deeds.

DONATIONS OR IN-KIND DONATIONS
One small, generous donation could change a cancer patient's life. I, Victoria, personally know that your donation - whether small or big - can significantly help to lighten the financial load that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Not only does it feel good to know that when you're going through a difficult time you have the love, support, and compassion from others; but it gives the individual confidence and motivation to keep fighting. The money significantly lifts the financial burden the patient is having to carry.

The Victoria Rose Fund can't do it alone! We rely solely on our generous supporters, annual donors, and community. We need help and support from all of our friends, family, and the general public.

Without all of you, this fund would not operate. Thank you so much for all that you have done over the years! With the upkeep of running this Non-Profit 501(C)3 (paying state, tax, and legal fees) this fund cannot run without your support.

Please help our organization stay afloat so we can continue our effort to help local individuals suffering from this horrible disease.

We rely solely on individual and in-kind donations. ANY donation helps!

NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!
