<div>Last December, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Stage 4 cancer. My liver had twelve tumors, and my doctors had told me I had no more than five years left to live. There seemed to be no hope for my situation, and medical professionals explained to me that my liver had too much disease for a surgical cure. My oncologists wanted to install a semi-permanent pump to feed high-dose chemotherapy directly into my liver to try to extend my life as much as possible. Despite this tragic diagnosis and the odds being against me, I felt there must be a way to heal the cancer within my body.

<div>After doing ample research and experimenting with different natural remedies, I discovered a miracle medicine in mushrooms. Rather than accepting my diagnosis and giving in to the cancer, I gave myself a fighting chance, and now I am officially a Stage 4 Cancer Survivor. Mushrooms contain powerful therapeutic compounds that can prevent and eliminate tumors in the body. During my 2nd-line chemotherapy treatment, I began to take a blend of mushrooms to supplement the treatments I was receiving from my doctors. After three rounds of chemotherapy, ten of my twelve tumors had dissolved entirely, leaving my doctors and me completely baffled. They had insisted that with the number of my tumors in my body previously, there was no way they could have been healed so quickly. It became clear that the therapeutic benefits of the medicinal mushrooms I took expedited my healing process. This profound discovery led me to develop VeryFungi, a company that would allow me to support myself and nourish my community through the healing powers of mushrooms.

<div>In my current situation, as a stage 4 cancer survivor, my doctors have recommended that I stay on a twice monthly chemo treatment regimen for the next few years to maintain control of the disease. The treatments are for three days, and I take the chemotherapy pump home with me for those 72 hours. This regimen has made it very difficult for me to have a productive workweek, shortening my work potential to 10 to 14 working days per month.

The small VeryFungi mushroom lab is currently located in Boston and has so far been entirely self-funded, but I still need to complete renovations before production begins. Our goal is to raise $35,000 with crowdfunding to help supplement the working capital and help us have a strong launch. Our early efforts will provide medicinal mushrooms to our community and yours.
