In Memory of Luisa Vasquez

Donation protected
This past holiday season, we lost a dear friend, Luisa Vasquez passed away on January 3rd, 2015. She got her last wish, to ring in the New Year with her husband Jose and youngest daughter, Michelle.
Luisa was a beacon of light in our tight-knit city of Burbank, and beyond. Many of you may remember her sewing costumes for numerous performances put on by Burbank students. Luisa was always willing to put time aside to make sure everyone got a gorgeous outfit that fit perfectly. In addition to her generous volunteerism within the city of Burbank, Luisa was a long time employee of the LA Unified School District. Luisa worked as a teacher and aid for students who had special needs. This benevolent career displayed Luisa's big and gentle heart. Whenever she talked about "her kids" at LAUSD, her eyes would shine bright and her mouth would widen with pride and excitement. She was their joy, and they were hers.
Luisa leaves behind a remarkable family. Jose has been an avid teacher and volunteer within the Burbank School District as well as in San Gabriel. He has inspired a countless amount of students, including myself, to find and pursue their passion in the world.
Luisa also leaves behind her two daughters, Christina and Michelle. Christina and her husband live in Colorado with their two beautiful girls. Michelle lives in Chicago, making a wonderful name for herself in the Stage Management field.
Now that you know more about what makes this particular family so inspirational and motivating, we are asking for your help. Due to the tragic loss of Luisa, the family has taken a deep hit with medical bills, hospital and rehabilitation bills, as well as other expenses. It would be a true testament to the memory of Luisa if we could band together and help the family recover financially from the loss of such a wonderful woman. We are asking for a total of 10,000 Dollars, which would help cover medical costs.
Anything you can give will help!
Lastly, we are keeping this GoFundMe account a secret from Jose. We do not want him to find out, as we wish to surprise him.

But remember! Don't let Jose see it!
(You can change your post settings so that it does not display this link to Jose if he is your friend on Facebook.)
