Hello friends and family,
We have set up this gofundme to help pay for funeral expenses and medical bills for my brother Vance.
Over the past two and half years he has been consistently misdiagnosed and has been in and out of hospitals due to this. From this, he was unable to work, and was without income, and has minimal health insurance. In the span of this two years, he has lost a severe amount of weight, switched to tube feeding, is unable to swallow, and has lost the ability to speak comprehensively.
About three months ago he was officially diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the esophagus. There were two options, a 12 hour surgery that would possibly allow for an additional twelve months full of complications and pain, or hospice.
He has been in hospice care since October 13th. My brother is a very good and decent man who loves everyone he meets. He is a husband, father, grandfather and sibling who loves his family dearly. He’s one of the biggest University of Miami fans and proudly wore his turnover chain shirt for every game this season. He’s also the adventurer of the family. Most importantly he has a big heart.
