On February 2, 2015 I lost my father, David (who served his country in both Army and Marine Corps) unexpectedly to a massive heart attack. I was there by his side along with my dear mother in ICU. I made the very difficult decision, to remove the breathing apparatus because I didn't see any improvement, and wanted to spare my mother the torture of seeing her soulmate of 41 years suffer.

Hjørdis, my mother was coughing uncontrollably, so we said goodbye to him and I wheeled her straight downstairs to the ER. She was admitted into ICU, where I slept by her side day and night.
She told me was looking forward to moving in with me in Los Angeles. And asked if my cat would like her.

I went back to Los Angeles to take care of my life for a moment and came back 4 days later. She was eating and off the IV. Things looked on the up and up, so they moved her into a nursing facility to recover.

Late afternoon of February 15, 2015 I walked into her room, saw her and she looked at me with a big smile, then looked behind her into the corner and said "Daddy is here"!

The morning of February 16, 2015, before I had a chance to leave her house 3 minutes away, shockingly she too was taken from me...EXACTLY TWO WEEKS to the day after my father passed. I didn't get to say one last "I love you" or anything, when I received that awful call you hope to never actually get.

I am heartbroken.

She was my best friend and my everything. She put her dreams of being a doctor aside, to raise and be there for me. Together, we have spanned the globe, from our home country of DENMARK to Switzerland (where I went to school) to the icy slopes of Point Barrow, Alaska- my mother gave me an adeventurous life most only dream of.

We would always talk on the phone about life and what I did that day for 2-3 hours EVERYDAY.
Now I have no one to talk to like that. Ever again.

To make matters worse, they did not make any departure plans: NO instructions, NO life insurance. They RENTED their house, and went to the Indian Casino to make a little money here and there for food and bills. They lived a very meager but very loving life, and never wanted to bother me with their financial problems- due to some bad investments 30 years ago with dishonest people that sadly they never recovered from.

So hence, I am left with countless phone calls, paperwork, their expenses for their arrangements, and
moving their furniture and heirlooms from their house up in Northern Central California to LA and put it in storage, until I can be strong enough to go through it and sort it.

So I am graciously asking for help with that as well please.

I have no siblings and no more immediate family.
That WAS my ENTIRE family-gone in a matter of days.

I'm alone in taking care of all of this.

P.S. Although he is my step father, he has been in my life since I was 6, so he IS my daddy.

P.P.S. The Armed services only cover certain things and do not cover CREMATIONS etc. so there is no help there. In case you were wondering.
