Urgent Support for Artin

Donation protected
ARTIN
Artin is a 9 old boy. He is quite shy, very sweet, modest and polite.

DIAGNOSIS
Artin is suffering from a serious type of cancer (Stage 3 Lymphoma). He has been ill for almost a year now and his prospects are at this stage uncertain, with his cancerous tumour having spread to his lungs. The money raised will provide him and his family with medical and pastoral care and support, as well as giving them the opportunity to travel overseas to undergo better treatment and be able to experience advanced medical facilities and procedures which are not available in his home country.

The expenses will hopefully also cover the cost of fun activities which Artin and his family would be interested in embarking on as a way to spend time with each other and have some moments of enjoyment throughout this difficult time. He is the only child of his parents. All donations are kindly accepted and greatly appreciated, many thanks.

MEDICAL HISTORY
Artin had been misdiagnosed for a few months by many different doctors, they attributed his extreme chest pain, heart problems and inability to sleep coupled with his breathing issues (Dyspnea) and high fevers to a chest infection. They prescribed him antibiotics. The last doctor they saw before receiving a proper diagnosis injected Artin with a serum and told his parents that they need to wait for the infection to pass. After being rushed to hospital in an emergency ambulance, collapsing on the way and relying on external types of oxygen to survive the hospital finally scanned Artins chest and confirmed that a huge tumour was cradling the extent of his chest. He has undergone months of chemotherapy, suffering from its effects and being gravely ill. He sleeps in an isolated section of the hospital and although his tumour has shrunk significantly since his treatments began we are all confident that his prospects would be better if we raise a significant amount of money to enable access to better treatment.

THE CAMPAIGN
Urgent Support for Artin came about when I was sat in a restaurant with my mum in France, in the October of 2017. She began telling me how her University best friend's (who is living in Milan) nephew had been diagnosed with a threatening stage of Cancer and that his prospects were not good. I was in shock, a sadness engulfed me, I suddenly wasn't able to stomach whatever I had ordered because all I could think about was this poor child suffering, it was cruel and unfair. Having befriended the family and knowing of Artin and his young age and sweet personality, heightened my subsequent anguish. By January I realised that instead of moping around any time my mum updated me of Artin's condition I realised that the only logical and productive thing to do was to help, do anything, whatever was possible to make the situation better and turn Artin's story from one of sympathy and sorrow in to one of hope and togetherness. I felt inspired and in an opportune position, I knew I would be able to raise a significant total but I never thought I would exceed my opening goal in such a short time. In only three months we've exceeded the opening goal and are making a huge difference in Artin's life.

THE CURRENT SITUATION
I am pleased to say that Artin is responding well to Chemotherapy and radiotherapy although the side effects are painful, Artin's last scan has revealed that his tumour is shrinking and his situation is improving but he's still under intense and heavy medical programmes which are draining on this child's body. He is still undergoing chemotherapy. In the last week the cells in his body have lapsed and he's experienced more frequent fevers.he takes chemotherapeutic medicines, steroids, and injections for white and red blood cells which over time do have a positive impact on his fight against Cancer. His parents boost his anti oxidant intake and he is not allowed to go outside the house when his blood cells have lapsed as his condition will worsen.

ARTINS LIFE
Artin's parents have the difficulty of providing him with full time care as well as working to put food on the table. The stress that this family is bravely living through is unimaginable. Artin divides his time between the children's ward of his hospital and his bedroom at home. He is too unwell to attend school or play with other children, he struggles to sleep most nights because he has difficult breathing and is anxious about bedtime. He sleeps in a secluded part of the hospital or by his parents side.

THE FUTURE
Artin will need radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the long term. Artin's condition will hopefully improve with steady monitoring and a regimented medical plan however we are not sure what will happen, it is not certain when he will improve. The aim is to raise enough money to UBS the many injections that Artin needs to survive, each injection is £1,000. I want his life to become better, I want him to heal fully and then embark on a recovery plan and have the same opportunities as other children do his age, I want him to be happy and healthy and smiling and enjoying life. If that's not a possibility even he slightest improvement is invaluable.

ARTIN'S DOCTORS
Have said that he needs to remain under strict chemo as he is susceptible to entering a life threatening condition if his treatment is lifted. We are controlling his Cancer but it is a very serious and dangerous situation where the tumour has spread.

A COMMUNITY WORKING TOGETHER
A few local restaurants and salons in Hertfordshire have supported the Urgent Support for Artin Campaign. So for your massive contributions, thank you and a big thank you to your customers and regulars who always ask after Artin and care about him deeply.

YOU
Your donations and well wishes are greatly appreciated, with your help we are making a child's life incomparably more bearable. The money donated is truly putting in to action the facilitation of Artin's treatment and assists any ventures to improve his quality of life. His family will no longer need to worry about the finances and expenses of missing work to spend time caring for their sick child, life can become that little bit easier. Those of you who cannot give I would like you to know that by just reading Artin's story, and sharing his page is enough to know that you care. Thank you so much for following his page for frequent updates. To Artin's family just the knowledge that people are aware of their situation and are considering their child in their thoughts and can empathise wth them and send well wishes is so important because it gives them hope. No matter how much is raised, without keeping track of numbers and totals, just the fact that Artin has a big outreach and that people care for him is enough to provide them with a hope and an optimism for the future and encourage them to keep fighting.
