My name is Tucker Gumber and I run the website www.TheFestivalGuy.com. In my 5 years of festivaling, one of my favorite co-collaborators I’ve had the pleasure of working with is photographer Collin Taylor. Collin is an incredibly talented visionary who worked his ass off to become the photographer of choice for many of our favorite artists and festivals like Griz, Big Gigantic, Pretty Lights, The Floozies, Imagine Festival and Wakarusa to name a few.
A self-made creative individual hustling in a competitive market, Collin has yet to secure the start up funds to invest in the photography equipment it takes to work as a full-time professional photographer, which is why it's not unusual for Collin to spend over $500 in rental fees and insurance to shoot a festival properly. This constant dilemma has made it impossible for him to sustain as a photographer in the industry considering all other life expenses.
As I was developing my new website and digging through all of his jaw dropping photos he’s made available for my company FestEvo, I had the idea to start a crowd funding campaign to thank him for capturing our favorite memories.
All the money raised will go directly towards buying the professional gear Collin needs. He and I spoke about his financial delima back in February of 2015 and this is the list of gear and goals we’ve set for this campaign:
A new camera body- $3600
Laptop - $1500
Batteries, Memory Cards and other Camera Accessories - $500
Road Case for travel, sometimes for carrying around camera gear 12-16 hours a day- $500
Imagine what could happen if everyone who saw this chipped in a few bucks to thank him for all of his epic photos. Together we can change his life and put him in postion to follow his dream in the best way he possibly can. And we will have the pictures to prove it.
In the meantime, follow Collin and his stunning photos on all the social channels at @LiveEditsLab.
Sincerely, Tucker Gumber.
