Hey everyone!
Thank you so much for taking an interest in my internship this Fall! In August and September, I will be working with Alpine Church in northern Utah to reach the surrounding Mormon community. Specifically, I will be working weekly with junior high and high school kids at Alpine Church and helping develop resources for youth ministry through pursueGOD.org. God has done a lot in my life leading up to this internship, and I could talk for a long time about why I feel led to this state and this church! For now, though, I'll keep it simple:
1. There is a HUGE NEED for Christians in Utah. Only 2.2% of the population is Christian, and the predominantly Mormon community has limited access to the gospel. This is truly an unreached people group in the U.S.
2. Utah has some of the highest rates of antidepressant consumption and suicide in the nation. Many Mormons recognize the unattainable standards of their religion and turn to medication, atheism, or suicide to escape.
3. My goal is to prayerfully explore ministry opportunities in Utah and consider eventually moving there full-time.
If you desire to support me financially or in prayer, I would greatly appreciate it. I will be driving to and from Utah, living in a host home, and paying for gas and food while there. My goal is to raise $2,500 by August 1st, and I am willing to babysit, cook, do odd jobs, etc. to raise the money! If you want to straight up make a donation, that's okay too. :) I would also love prayer as I seek direction for the future, and try to discern if God is calling me to Utah long-term. Even if you can't commit to donating or praying, I would still LOVE to talk to you about the need for the gospel in Utah.
