Hello all, My name is Jay McPherson. My family owns and operates McPherson Cleaners in Lebanon, TN.  A family business that has spanned coming up on 3 generations.

7 years ago my father Jeff, Diane (our loyal employee), and myself began raising money through the holidays for children and famlies without the means to have a good Christmas. Something many of us tend to take for granted.  It started very small. Just collecting money from customers, friends and family and helping just a handful of children. Over the years word has gotten around and the effort has grown significantly and we now have upwards of 60 children or more every year.

In additon to buying toys for the kids, we also buy coats, hats, gloves, underware, shoes, and everyday items they may need.

We also have begun helping our local Senior Citizens Awareness Network (SCAN) which in turn provides canned food and other things for the local elderly community. It is such a great program!

We also  prepare and serve a very warm and very good Christmas meal for these families. And Little Caesars' donates a stack of pizzas every year! What kid doesn't like pizza!

Santa always show up at just the right time for the children. I'm not sure who enjoys the most, our Santa or the kids.

It's a ton of work that has to be done in a very very short time period, but is is also incredibly rewarding for all of us. We have to start getting the word out early in order to get ahead and stay ahead of our deadline.

So our pitch is this. We know that you have a number of places to give and donate your time during the holidays this year. But if you have any extra to give this is a wonderful well placed grassroots effort to do real good for people in the community who really need it.  Every single penny donated goes directly to our effort and no where else, so you can be sure it is money well spent.

We begin shopping for the children on Black Friday, so again time is of the essence. 

We also welcome you to volunteer the day of the event, we can always use the help, and you can see first hand who you are helping and why we do what we do.

In addition we are offering the following incintives through the cleaners.

Donations of $40 and up are entered into a drawing for a year of free drycleaning ($600 value @ $50 per month for 12 mounths)

Donations under $40 ( cash, or a new childs toy, or non-perishable food item) are worth a 10% discount on a single visit to the cleaners for any service. Toys must be new and unwrapped and can be donated at either McPherson Cleaners location in Lebanon TN or Gallatin Pike Nashville, TN.
