Help make sheCodesNow a non-profit!

Deepak (VP of Engineering @CDK) and Cokos (Sr. Engineer @CDK) and many more supportive CDK'ers are going to wear bright pink to celebrate when we reach our goal!

SheCodesNow provides free coding workshops for women.

We have a chapter in Seattle and a newly opened chapter in Detroit. (The Detroit chapter was started in June 28.)

Overall, the goal of SheCodesNow has been to break the fear barrier so women without a traditional Comp Sci background can still find a path to get into tech. Every month, we serve between 25-30 women in our workshops. Single moms, immigrants, women who've been out of the work force and want to get updated current technology, and women who feel it's too late for them to get a better job…These are the people we serve. 

After 10 months of solid operation, we feel it's time we became an actual 501(c)(3). As  an official non-profit, we'd be able to do much more for #womenInTech! 

Some of our goals once we're officially a 501(c)(3) are:
- Do fundraisers to provide women scholarships for going to dev bootcamps.
- Continue offering a lot more free coding workshops in partnership with other educational orgs.


 Since the IRS requires a fee for filing as a non-profit, we're doing this fundraiser campaign to raise the money needed for that.  ($850 for IRS fee, $50 for filing the name 'sheCodesNow' as registered business name, and $100 for lawyer fee.) 

If we surpass our $1000 goal, the extra money will be extremely appreciated! We will use it for our beginning budgeting needs as a budding non-profit. :)
