Farewell Tunde

Tunde Salvador was born on October 05th, 1981 in Lagos Island, Nigeria.  He was the second son of Moshood and Tawa Salvador.  Just after his sixteenth birthday, Tunde and his brother, Azeez, were sent to Canada to pursue a new life and in hope of securing a better future.  Upon arrival in Canada, they claimed refugee status which allowed them to enter the schooling system, get an apartment and receive financial support.  For awhile it was like a dream come true as everything seemed to fall in place.  However, the dream was short lived as the refugee claimed was denied.  They immediately had to quit school and changed their address, as the authorities were on the hunt for them to send them back to Nigeria. For Tunde, going back to Nigeria was not an option.  He was determined to live and Canada and achieve something.  Tunde and his brother took on various precarious labor jobs to provide for themselves.  Some of the jobs were under very dangerous conditions but was a means to an end for them.  Eventually his brother was able to get married, start a family and achieve residential status in Canada.  Tunde was not so lucky.  He was still on his endeavor to gain status.  It had been twenty years since he left Nigeria and the journey was not fulfilling.  He had a passion for soccer and that he did very well.  He played regularly with his team.  Tunde was a very shy person.  He didn’t talk much, so no one knows what he last days was like.  Tunde found love.  He had a girlfriend named, Kimosha.  They were happy for a while, but the relationship came to an end by mid-February.  On March 13th, Tunde was found dead in his room.  It is still a mystery as to when he died and how he died.  His last phone call to his brother was on March 01st.  Unfortunately, his brother had been unable to reach him since then. 

Tunde was not able to achieve a better life for himself in Canada.  He has gone to meet his maker where no dream is unachievable, and the only dream is just being with Him.

Tunde’s parents, sister and his other two brothers are still in Nigeria.  The parents wish to come to Canada to pay their respect to their son which they had not seen for twenty years. 

Any assistance you can give to help finance the funeral and the airfare for the parents will be greatly appreciated.

The funeral service is scheduled for April 14th, 2018.
