My husband and I had the pleasure of hosting a foreign exchange student, Ash, from Malaysia. A straight "A" student fluent in 4 languages he was fortunate enough to come to the United States on a sponsored exchange program as his family would never have been able to afford the opportunity.
While with us he learned that he had earned straight "As" on his college entrance scores and would receive a full ride scholarship to college upon his return to Malaysia.
However...his semester in the United States prevented him from meeting a registration deadline and his full scholarship was reduced to 50% leaving he and his single mother with three children $3,000 short for his tuition.
We are hoping to help fund the $3,000 needed for Ash to begin his studies with the goal of becoming a Chemical Engineer. He is a studious and extremely motivated young man and deserves this chance to help make his family's life better.
