All funds raised will go to the printing of a weekly, left wing tabloid newspaper.
What we have right now is a website, an app for phones, a weekly paper soon to be printed as an actual paper, pdf copies sent to subscribers, a separate ‘Issuu’ platform where ‘virtual’ readers can read the current and some past editions on a phone, tablet, laptop, and so on, flicking over pages and zooming in and out, but most exciting of all, a totally new Social Media Platform, independent of Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, or anything else; it is controlled by us, the ordinary socialist and although very small, we can become as large as we want it to be. Its defining feature is that it allows socialists to communicate with one another, free from the nonsense Facebook allows.
All these projects cost vast amounts of money, but we must keep going, we must give people the place to put their voice, to keep people honestly informed, to get a printed paper back on the streets where it CANNOT be edited or deleted at a click of a switch, where you can go onto a site without worrying of the repercussions.
Until the virus cooped us all up, we had a radio station and I hope we can go back to that, but when ‘The Establishment’ shuts down all electronic political communications everywhere (if you can imagine that it could and probably will happen) we might be the only people left on the Left producing a high quality hard copy tabloid newspaper.
