Truck Conversion 4 a Quadriplegic

I'm Steve and was the victim of a violent crime, shot in cold blood, left to die on the street in Tallahassee, FL October 29, 1994. Fortunately I survived, however from this unprovoked road rage it left me as a C5 Quadriplegic.
God has blessed me, in more way than I can count. My biggest blessing is with the hardest working parents who have helped care for me over the past 18 years. They're retired now and we cannot afford to continue to repair consistently our 14 year old van.The van is literally falling apart. Many that have recently road with me can attest to this. My hope is to be able afford, through contributions, something before first snow fall 2013. It's just served us well, and time to park it permanently.
I have become extremely frustrated with the lack of compassion car and wheelchair conversion companies have when it comes to affordability, among other things. The cost of wheelchair converted vehicles has doubled, maybe tripled, since I purchased my current van.
Those other things mentioned earlier are the lack of 4WD and no ground clearance situation. Especially in the mountains, where we live. Not only that, in order for us to get anywhere in the snow you have to have a vehicle with AWD, 4WD, or 4x4. In my condition (quadriplegia), that means transferring to an AWD car. So the only way for me to travel is in a handicap accessible van or truck which has a ramp that collapses out sideways to the ground for me to get out and back in to leave.
I found a company who converts 4WD trucks for the disabled. It is http://www.accessibletruck.com/, Which is long overdue!
