Trina's Hospital Fund

Trina  is our amazing customer service gal at Citrus Hair Salon. She has Cystic Fibrosis, an inherited disease which mainly affects the lungs and pancreas but can involve other organs. CF causes a persistent ongoing infection in the lungs, with destruction of lungs and loss of lung function. There is no cure for CF.  The life expectancy of someone suffering from CF is about 37 years. Because of this illness, Trina spends weeks and sometimes months in the hospital every year fighting infections and other related health issues. 

Trina  has a great spirit and tries not to let it get her down, but she has a difficult time making ends meet because of her illness.  She tries to work as much as she can to supplement her meagre earnings from medical assistance. Historically, a stint in the hospital means that she loses her job, which causes more stress on her because of the financial worry. We plan on keeping Trina on staff no matter how long or how many times she is in hospital, and she always has a place to work when she gets better. We think she is THAT fantastic of a human being.

Right now Trina has landed in the hospital again and is waiting for a couple of surgeries to help alleviate some of the issues she has been having. She has a blood infection, a kidney stone and bleeding in the lungs. She will likely spend weeks in the hospital, which means lots of lost income again.  We try to do what we can, but she needs more help.

We are asking for any bit of help you can give to help pay her rent, expenses and just give her piece of mind so she can focus on healing and not on her finances. Maybe a little bit extra to help her indulge a little for once would be great for her spirit too! Anything you can do will help lots.
