Thank you for taking the time to check out my fundraising page! As most of you know, I work as a Hand Therapist for ATI Physical Therapy. One of the many reasons I love working for this company is what they are able to give back to the community.
Garrett King is just like every other little boy, but all of that changed for him in the blink of an eye. In 2015, Garrett became ill just like any of our kids, starting off with a low grade fever and was diagnosed with strep. Things then took a turn for the worse, Garrett went from having a strep infection to ending up in a coma for about 30 days. A virus had attacked his brain and spinal cord, further damaging his motor functions. After a few months of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, Garrett is now able to utilize a wheelchair for mobility and is able to take a few steps with a walker.
Garrett would love to get outside with his friends, but he is met with some limitations due to his motor functions. With your help, we can get him an adapted bicycle that will allow him to ride along with his friends and family!
I am currently signed up to race in the Gulf Coast Triathlon (swimming 1.2 miles, biking 56 miles, running 13.1 miles). I am working on raising money two ways: donations from you and donations from me.
I will be out running a lot over the next two months, so here is the deal... if you see me out running and honk, I will donate 1$. But, if you see me out WALKING and honk, I will donate 5$.
Together we can help a fantastic kid get out and have fun, thank you!
