Tricia's TaTas

In my world, things are never "normal." I always like to add what I call a level of difficulty. So, this December when I found a lump in my right breast, I knew. I decided to keep peace over the holidays and made a doctors appointment for January. After various appointments and testing, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in early February. Of course, the level of difficulty hadn't kicked in yet. I'm only 34, young by breast cancer standards and i presented healthy with normal bloodwork. So, everyone (and by everyone, I include medical team) expected that we would do chemo first since I did have spread to lymph nodes, then surgery, radiation and finally reconstructive surgery. Plan was made and we just had a few last tests. Chemo was scheduled to start Wednesday and I had breast MRI on Monday. Wednesday, before we started chemo, I had an appointment with the oncologist (chemo doc) and he dropped this bomb. My breast MRI showed lesions on the top of my liver and on my bones. Cue my level of difficulty. I just went from being 34 and young for stage 2 breast cancer to being 34 and very young and very outwardly healthy for stage 4 breast cancer. As it turns out, in addition to the two tumors in my right breast and the lymph nodes in my right armpit, I also have cancer over fifty percent of my liver and in three spots on my bones (one on sternum and two on my hip/pelvis).  I am now 3 weeks into an 18 week chemo regimen. I haven't worked in 8 weeks due to appointments, testing, procedures and pain. I cannot work during chemo due to the amounts of medication I am receiving and how susceptible it may make me to other illnesses. I set my goal amount at $10950. This would enable me to pay bills through this regimen of chemo (4950 for the next 15 weeks which doesn't include food or incidentals), replace my a/c unit (4000- chemo literally cooks you and i am already hot and have no a/c) and pay my current outstanding medical bills ($2000- out of pocket maximum). Please remember, every little bit helps. Thank you!
