Funds will help support the completion of my Masters degree and Masters thesis, my dreams of continuing as a world class elite athlete, my participation on Team USA, and my ability to share my stories of perseverance and identity with the community.  You'll also get your name placed on my Team USA uniform.

As a local Washington, CT athlete, I am looking for support from my community in my endevours to continue as a world class elite triathlete and with completing my Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology. As an All American ranked triathlete and a member of the 2019 Team USA World Championship team, my goal is to represent my community that I admire so much and to provide research data that can help athletes with safe training and racing.

I am currently a full time student completing my Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and a Masters Thesis on creatine supplementation and hydration in endurance athletes. I work full time as a graduate assistant in the exercise science laboratory and as a coach for an elite amateur triathlon team named Full Throttle Endurance.  In 2020 I will begin to collect data which will involve sweat analysis, performance testing, and will try to demonstrate that creatine can be an effective way to hydrate and help endurance athletes with performance.

Competing at the 2018 USA Triathlon National Championships where I qualified for Team USA.

Financial support would allow me to achieve my athletic goals and dreams while also pursuing advanced degrees. Next summer I will again try to compete at the World Championships.   Funds will also help me to be more comprehensive with my thesis so I can identify safe and effective ways for athletes to prepare for racing in hot and extreme temperatures.  My academic commitments are vital to my success but limit my earning ability beyond paying for my education. Triathlon is, unfortunately, not without significant expense. Continuing as a member of Team USA and sharing my stories of perseverance and identity with the community are very important for me. I’m so excited to represent our country and Connecticut at the 2019 Olympic Triathlon World Championships and I look forward to an opportunity to share my success with you.

I want to represent Connecticut, the LGBTQ community, and young adults suffering from anxiety and depression.  To do this, I have spoken on podcasts and have lectured to schools and companies..

While obtaining my Masters degree in Exercise Physiology, I am also helping PHD’ students with thier dissertation at The University of Connecticut.  This study involves heat acclimitization and helping student athletes stay safe while playing in hot conditions.  Hopefully with the work of the Korey Stringer institute a safe protocol can be built for playing sports in hot temperatures without the risk of heat realted illness.

I so appreciate your support and will carry the names of all of my sponsors who give $100 or more to support me in my life-long dream of representing the United States on the world stage of triathlon.  I will design the logo soon but as the Championships are around the corner and the turnaround for the uniform is 10 days I can't guarantee everyone will be placed on the uniform.   Photo of the placement options are below.

Thank you for taking the time read about my goals and aspirations.  With the town’s support, I can continue my dreams of finishing my master’s thesis and getting my PHD, I can also continue representing the community as a Team USA triathlete and continue spreading my message of perseverance and identify.
