Cat Sanctuary

Many animals find themselves abandoned in the south of Spain. Whilst homes for dogs are well-established, there are few homes for abandoned or stray cats. Tres Claveles Cat Sanctuary is a non-profit association (registered in Spain, charity number G72382716) recently set up to look after and eventually rehome these unfortunate animals.

The sanctuary was started informally many years ago by Lucinda Burdett who has spent much of her life helping to rescue cats. Her son, Pedro, along with two friends spent a year in Spain renovating the sanctuary and officially registering it as a charity. We also hope to run a part of the sanctuary as a guesthouse, to help raise money for the charity and allow potential adopters to visit the cats!
Some of our cats have suffered abuse, have a chronic illness, or have simply not been loved. We aim to fix this and enable the cats to live as comfortable and as fun a life as possible! We currently have 16 live-in cats and have recently taken on the care and adoption responsibility of another cat and her 5 young kittens. Caring for 16 cats is an expensive thing to do, but now we also need to find the money to vaccinate and neuter 5 new kittens - which is why we need your help!

Your donations will help us pay for neutering, vaccinations, travel cards and transport of the cats to their new homes! But more than this, your donations will make it possible for us to do this and still continue to feed, clean, and keep our 16 cats healthy at the same time.
The cat sanctuary is managed by us directly and operated by volunteers; none of us is paid and so 100% of your donations go directly to the cats! Furthermore, we do not charge adoption fees, do not charge adopters for the cats, and do not charge our own admin fees. This is to give all the cats in our care the best chance possible of finding a new loving home. But it does mean that all donations are really important to us.
