Help Build a Bird Hide at Tramore Nature Park

Donation protected
Tramore Eco Group have a campaign that will interest birdwatchers, photographers, ecologists, teachers, school children and nature lovers alike. Waterford City and County Council have agreed to build a bird hide (which will be wheelchair accessible) to the design illustrated below during the Autumn.  To finish the basic building we would like to add gabions (essentially wire ‘baskets’ filled with large stones) to the outside. These would blend in well with the surroundings and will soften over time as grass and local wild flowers find niches to grow around.
Children can also be encouraged to throw in ‘seed bombs’ and watch them grow. A scheme was launched earlier in the year which involved many hours of work put in by the children of Glor Na Mara but the public collection of funds became impossible due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.   TEG fervently want this project to belong to the people of Tramore and hope that many of its residents, along with visitors, will enjoy its facilities to observe wildlife. This 'Go Fund Me' page has been launched to raise the necessary funds to purchase the gabions. (Below) TEG at the Eco  Park, Tramore, finalising their plans for the bird hide.
