Tracey's breast cancer battle

Donation protected
On Monday, June 12th, my family learned that my sister, Tracey Gordon, at 34 years old with two children, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Two weeks prior to the diagnosis, Tracey noticed a lump on her left underarm. It was small in size and painless to the touch. We all wondered what it was, questioning if she bruised the area as it increased in size. She would reiterate that she was fine and that maybe her lymph nodes were just inflamed. A week later, the lump quadrupled in size and began to hurt at even the slightest of movement. After being sent home from work due to the pain, Tracey finally checked into the E.R. and after numerous tests, including an MRI, a contrast CT scan, and a sonogram, the doctors noticed cancerous cells. The doctors decided to do surgery to remove the cancerous looking lymph nodes, removing a good amount but after receiving the results of the MRI, CT scan, and other tests, it revealed that more cancerous cells were still present in her.

After some hesitation of performing a mammogram due to her age and dense breast, they eventually decided to perform the mammogram along with a biopsy which revealed what we all feared: Tracey was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer, found in both breasts. I had received the news right before leaving work, and while wanting to be strong for my older sister, I found myself breaking down in front of my co-workers after explaining to them what we had just discovered.

As of June 16, 2017, Tracey began her first chemotherapy treatment. She will be receiving treatments every 2 weeks until September. Beginning in September, she will be doing treatments every week until the end of December. I am doing this GoFundMe so she can have some type of peace of mind and not have to worry about her bills, allowing her to focus on fighting the good fight. I want to show her that now it's time for me to step forward and make an effort to take care of her just as she did for me when I was younger. My sister is always going to be my sister but she is also one of my best friends. I would never want to see her hope diminished nor see her light flicker out, so I'm asking for help, to aid my sister as she goes through her chemotherapy treatments and to be able to be strong through all of this.

On Monday June 26, 2017, Tracey went in so they could place a port where it would be easier to administer the chemotherapy treatments and as of July 1st, the doctors have recommended that she get a double mastectomy after her radiation treatments. I only want my sister to live a long fulfilling life, she has a lot to live and love for. She has two kids, Gabriel, 5 years old, and Gianna, who recently turned 2. I want her to experience life with her children and attend my nephew's graduation from Kindergarten. I want to keep things as normal as possible for her without hindering her and not let her cancer diagnosis take up her entire life and be the focus of her life.

Please find it in your hearts to help me and my family in helping my sister fight this and see it through. Any type of donations will help to making sure my sister continues her treatments and not have to worry about finances at home and providing for her children. Even sharing this GoFundMe and spreading the word would help tremendously. Thank you for your time.
