Todd & Toni Palen-a tough battle ahead

After fighting Todd's thyroid cancer in April of 2012 and told he was cancer free, Todd and Toni were looking forward to continuing their wonderful life with their children and new granddaughter. In December 2013 they received the devastating news that the cancer had metastasized to both of Todd's lungs. Todd is scheduled at M.D. Anderson in Houston on January 14, 2014 for consultation and treatment planning. The tests so far show multiple nodules scattered throughout both lungs.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Todd is an incredibly hard worker; a kind and generous soul, easy to like and loved by many"”and he needs our help. It can be hard for someone battling cancer to deal with the physical, emotional and financial hardships brought on by their illness. So it helps to have a strong support system from friends and family backing them up. But often friends and family may not know how they can help when a loved one is dealing with cancer.
