Legal Declaration of Julius' Presumed death

It is with a heavy heart that I am establishing this Go Fund Me. NOW IS THE TIME. It is crucial that I begin the process for a Legal Declaration that the father of my children is deceased. 

Many of you know that it has been almost 5 long and painful years since Julius Rugwiro went missing during his humanitarian aid-related mission in East Africa.* 

This left me to be sole caretaker for my children. They are without the benefit of not only their father’s presence, but also without the Survivors Benefits due to them ~ only because his body was never found despite multiple requests of the US government. 

I need to immediately raise $2,500-$3,000 for attorney fees so I can secure the legal representation necessary to file in probate court and have Julius declared dead in absentia.

I am attempting to save for this expense, but as a new homeowner of an older home, there have been the unexpected expenses. 2020 has brought many unexpected circumstances and it has made it almost impossible to have any excess money for legal fees. It is indeed difficult to express the effects of this chasm on the life of our family, and I am so grateful for the love and support of all who have been part of our struggles.

I anticipate if I can secure my attorney early  October, I may be able to file near the exact 5 year mark - December 17, 2020.
