Tina has helped many and now needs the help of many!

On December 12th she received test results from her doctor and needed to see an oncologist immediately for possible ovarian cancer. On December 17th he decided to do emergency surgery and it was scheduled for December 23rd. It was the news nobody wants to hear the week before Christmas!
Tina's operation went by the book with no complications. Doctors did find and remove stage 3/4 ovarian cancer, but some was left behind which will require long term treatment and therapy.
Due to the uncertainty of the long term financial burden we are asking for help so that Tina and family can focus on her full recovery. For many years she has given to others for their long term health care. And now we are asking others to help her!

After raising 3 boys with her husband Peter she fulfilled a life dream. She returned to school to hone her gift of counseling others. Once receiving her masters’ degree and acquiring her license as a social worker it gave her that opportunity. For the last 20 years she has worked with the homeless population in her hometown of Portland, ME and veterans of war on a federal level. She discovered her specialty to be counseling veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during her time with the Veterans Administration of Maine. Twice she accompanied veterans from the Viet Nam war to see the memorial in Washington DC. A.s well a trip with Iraq/Afghanistan war veterans to see memorials and honor all those who served before them. They were healing trips that to this day she carries close to her heart. When the Boston Marathon bombing occurred she immediately volunteered and headed to Boston to be of assistance through the trauma close to home.

Recently she retired from the VA and has opened a private practice. This year she thoughtfully put closure with her VA clients and transitioned to private practice. Successfully she continues her skill working with PTSD clients. Unfortunately, December 12 changed everything; she needs your help! Loss of income, private business overhead, and cancer treatment is putting a financial strain on her family. Tina is proactive, has a positive survivor attitude and wants to continue helping others while she goes through her own cancer treatment program.

Thank you in advance for your help!
