First of all I manage to take care of myself and don't like asking for help from people because I know many of us need things for ourselves and our familes. I have been a flight attendant for the past 13 years. I was diagnosed in early 2011 with non alcoholic cirrhosis due to hepatitis b when I had small verices  rupture during flight and was hospitalized for 4 days, because I had lost  a good amount of blood.  I took the regiment antiviral and my levels decreased and was on several meds for fluid etc..  My doctor had told me then that it was good posibility for tumor growth due to the cirrhosis and if that did occur it was more than likely a transplant would be needed but for then it was considered stage 4 but my levels were low so I really did not dwell on the issue and I countinued working although my main symptom was "being tired".   Since then the disease has progressed and I was having surgery on my arm due to an unrelated work injury and of course I had to have a checkup  from my doctor  because I was having a surgery and with my past issues it could cause bleeding during surgery.  I am also amnemic as well due to the cirrhosis and my platelets were low.. During the blood work it was discovered that I had a high tracer for tumors in my blood levels and so my doctor advised  several tests including a CT scan..  The scan actually showed no lesions or tumors but the blood work was still not looking good so he advised me to have an MRI and with that he discovered two tumors (Hepatic Cell Carcinoma) This was diagnosed in September of this year(2017).  The regiment of treatment was that of the Y90 implantation in the blood vessels leading to the tumors.  I also had multiple tests and chest scans etc. to determine  if there was any other cancer growth.. Fortunately, at this time everything was clear but the task at hand was to take care of the tumors on my liver.  I had the vessel mapping procedure to target a route to the tumors and was to proceed with the implantation in two weeks. I was set to go and blood levels spiked and the procedure cancelled.  That is where I am at this time. I am awaiting new blood work and rescheduling for this procedure.. I work full time as a flight attendant and I will have to cut back to make it through these tests and procedures. I do have insurance but as things increase I will be short funded and leave will be unpaid. As with the transplant when that becomes available I will have a year where I will not be able to work due to chances of illness because of immune system issues from the transplant.  My funding is for the things I can not pay such as all the copays and extras and the things that will come up over the duration of time.. I'm  a hard worker and I have worked since age 17.  My many friends, co-workers, and family could contest to that. I am having these procedures to try and insure the stabiliazation of the cancer, that it not spread until a transplant is available.. I am currently listed on the liver transplant list at Loyola Hospital here in Chicago  although I am a resident of Kentucky.  I appreciate your thoughts and concerns. These funds are requested for my person health issues and the welfare of myself.  The transplant will be inevidable  as with the many bills and care I will need.  I try to stay pro-active and plan ahead.. There is no cure for the cirrhosis only the transplant.. There will be many medications I will have to be on for my lifetime.  I am age 50 and have a great desire to live and work and be productive with my life as I have always been. I am blessed that they found this issue in a timely manner and although it is cancer their is always hope.  I will be evaluated every so many months on the list and will gain points to elevate my recipient status. The current goal of my doctors is treat and destroy the tumors and prevent spreading until the transplant is available to me.. Although the treatment is preventative in one sense I have to always be focused that they can return and that is why I will eventually have the transplant.. It will rid me of the damaged liver completely. Your donations are truly appreciated and they would contribute to the personal burdens of worry and stress that come along with the diagnosis. I know there are many people who battle these issues and my heart goes out to them as well. Thanks for reading my campaign and much love and appreciation to everyone who reads if only a prayer or word of kindness is all you can spare.. We can all use that as well..  Thanks Again.
Update12/07/17..Reschedule of Y90 Radiation for 12/26/17
Update 02/08/18.. Y90 Implantation went well and its been a little over a month ..Follow up this month for tumor analysis. I've been blessed with very little sickness however energy levels are low as expected. Good news returning to work for March to have insurance and benefits to fight this battle.. Still listed on transplant list and that will be updated every 6 months.
