Puerto Rico Disaster Relief

Donation protected
7 weeks after hurricanes Irma and Maria, Puerto Rico is in dire need of help. As members of ThoughtSpot, we're all incredibly lucky to have the security that our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico do not have right now. As we come up on Thanksgiving, let's reflect on this and do our part to help a community in need.

Let's start with a  goal of $750. Several folks on the team have direct ties to Puerto Rico - Jorge De La Rosa specifically. Jorge can help us allocate the money to the best possible areas as he's directly tied to the community and those involved in relief efforts. We could purchase generators for those without power, medicine for the sick, food and clean water for those without money to feed their families.

Please donate whatever you can. If you need extra motivation, I'll dye my stupid mustache either Jet Black or Orange and take a photo for proof during the Thanksgiving holiday. Plus, ThoughtSpot will match any donations.

If you need to see data that supports the complete disarray that the island is in, i've included some quick facts below:

60% of the island is without power, and 30% is without cell service 7 weeks after

6 million people are without running water

38% of the island relied on food stamps prior to the hurricanes, and post-disaster these people have little to no means to feed themselves outside of an extremely stretched FEMA emergency food stamp program.

Over 10% of residents have fled the island. This 10% are the welathies folks on the island, leaving those without means to rebuilt the island by themselves.
