Good day! My name is Thomas Eridon and I am a Boy Scout working on my Eagle Project in Michigan. My project is to raise funds to pack and mail at least 40 large boxes full of items requested by our United States soldiers overseas. The items requested seem basic to us and are items we may take for granted, but are highly in demand by soldiers. Basics from deodorant and toothpaste to protein bars, jerky and candy.
I am working with a non-profit through Lapeer, Michigan called Operation Care Package Michigan. JJ, the founder, is amazing and has been sending care packages for fourteen years when funds allow. The organization is completely volunteer based and 100% of the funds raised through this page will be used to help me pack and ship the forty boxes and hopefully provide enough to ship many more boxes overseas. You should see the letters and items the soldiers send JJ as a thank you . . . makes a tear come to your eye. JJ is truly making a difference and I want to help.
This project means a lot to me and I feel will make a difference in soldiers lives ever so far away from home. This is my way of saying thank you to the American men and women, who we often forget in the rush of our daily lives, but who are away from home serving our country so we can live peacefully and freely in the United States of America and other parts of the world. This project will let the soldiers know we thank them, we are thinking of them, and we support them!
If you wish to donate but not through my GoFundMe, there are other ways. You can write a check to Operation Care Package Michigan and send it to me. I will make sure they receive the check and Operation Care Package Michigan will send you a receipt. If you are local, I am collecting returnables and can pick them up from you. I am also collecting donations of non-perishable food or personal hygiene products.
Every donation name appearing on this GoFundMe page, or through a donation, unless otherwise requested, will be placed on a letter sent in each box acknowledging your help in making it possible for the boxes to be sent overseas and showing our men and women in uniform your appreciation for their service.
