Short Film Project on Fatherlessness

Donation protected

For all the talk about the complexities of the "root causes" of crime, there is one root cause which overwhelms the rest: Fatherlessness. Fatherlessness is the greatest predictor of Juvenile Violence & Crime. 85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home (U.S Dept of Justice). Many gang members are fatherless....please help us reach them. We will be taking this film into Youth Detention Centres & Community Centres throughout GTA to start.

WHO ARE WE?
We are Exousia Media Group (EMG): A unique, dynamic & cutting edge Multimedia Organization that utilizes all facets of the Arts to address contemporary social issues through theater, film, education and community outreach. EMG is known for tackling complicated issues that affect our communities while avoiding stereotypes and simplistic solutions. Our group is made up of over 50 passionate actors who donate their time because they believe in using their artistic talents to do more than just perform...but to make a difference in the world around them.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
We have done several theatrical productions that address such topics as: Gang violence, drug addiction, child molestation & abuse, depression, domestic violence and many more.

We now have the opportunity to make a short film in response to 'The Summer of the Gun' that will deeply impact the lives of at risk youth by addressing the social issue of Fatherlessness as it relates to gang life & gang activity.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Would you consider donating to our campaign 10-4-Y-M ($10 for Young Men) by making a donation of $10 or more to help us create this important film that will be used in Youth Forums/Discussions and Community Centers not only in Canada but in the U.S as well?

***EMAIL MONEY TRANSFERS to [email redacted]. Question: What am I making? Answer: difference (lower case)***
