The Jeremy Project is the vision of Victor Ramos. One afternoon while coming out of their mutual church service Victor saw Betsy Torres struggling to put get her son Jeremey Torres into their small four-door car. Jeremy was born with spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy. Jeremy is unable to move any of his muscles from the neck down.
Victor approached them to try an help inquired regarding their situation. This was when Victor learned that in 2016 The Torres family had the minivan that they previously had for their son repossessed by the bank after a period of financial hardship. In 2016 Betsy had to stop working due to personal health issues ranging from fibromyalgia and bulging lumbar spine disk damage.
During this time of financial hardship, this family was living on only one income. Her husband Manny Torres, who is an extremely hard worker took on a second job in addition to whatever side work he could find but working as much as 7 days a week. Despite his best efforts they fell behind on their car payment and their minivan was repossessed by the bank.
Once Victor had learned what had happened to them God move his heart to start the Jeremy Project A Question of Faith to help the Torres family. Victor felt that if we all come together we can help young Jeremy and his family to purchase a new wheelchair accessible minivan for young Jeremy for the glory of God.
The goal of the Jeremy Project is about more than a minivan. Our goal is about promoting unity in Christ. At the end of the day, we just want this young kid to have something many of us take for granted...COMFORT.
We understand that 70,000 is a lot of money. No human being alone is going to make this happen. But if we all come together we can all make a difference. When we give no matter the amount we are putting legs to our faith and giving more than money. We are giving LOVE.
