Want to make a difference?
The Sexual Assault Support Center, Inc., aka The Center at 909
, was established in 1981 by community members committed to providing free and confidential
services to survivors of sexual violence (rape, sexual abuse, child molestation, adults abused as children, human trafficking, etc.), dating violence, and stalking. Though our name has changed, our dedication to survivors and their loved ones has not.
When it comes to providing services to those affected by sexual violence, it can be difficult to sum up the various ways that someone may be impacted and how we can help. As of July 15, 2019, we have provided services to over 175 new
clients (ages 4 to 80+); this does not count the numerous returning clients for additional services. That's over 2,400
units of service provided to survivors of all ages
Not only do we accompany survivors during the medical forensic examination process (MFE or "rape kit"), we can assist in additional areas: replacing clothing or bedding that may have been taken as evidence, accompaniment to court/trial, law enforcement advocacy and accompaniment, counseling referrals for FREE sessions, assistance in filing for Georgia's Victim Compensation program, and many other services. For more information about our services, please visit The Center's services page.
How can you be a part of this change? Donations allow The Center to assist clients with free counseling, support group sessions, replacement items, toiletries, transportation to counseling sessions, emergency shelter assistance, medication prescribed to prevent or cure STI's, and many other essential services for clients to heal and thrive
Any donation will help make an impact! Right now you have the power to facilitate change and create a new narrative for survivors. Be that change!
Thanks in advance for your contribution and support to this cause!
