The 64 Story

The 64 Story aims to showcase and document the Smash 64 scene. Never has 64 seen anything close to a mini-documentary or high-quality videos that show what our community is like. Not many people really know about our players or any of the storylines, so this is meant to bring that to light.

As you may already know, The 64 Story: Genesis 3 mini-doc series has already been released. You can check out part 1 below or visit the YouTube playlist with all of our Smash 64 videos here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3_ekz3eY4wzyWA1NrVgtYvqhvUz7FBMv

So who am I? Both my name and tag is Preston and I live in Toronto, Canada. I only play Smash 64 and have been playing competitively for about 3 years. On the creative side, I have been a photographer for around 6 years and more recently got into videography.

Now that the Genesis 3 mini-doc series has been released, my plan is to not just stop at Genesis 3. The goal is to continue documenting this new era of amazing growth that is coming from the 64 community and attend as many majors as possible.

Donator Rewards (all dollar amounts in CAD)
1. Those who donate $20 or more will have early access to videos.

Funds Allocation (all dollar amounts in CAD)
1. Get On My Level 2016: $0

With GOML 2016 being in my hometown, I don't require any funds to travel to it. Therefore, I will most likely be creating some content for this tournament in some capacity.

2. Genesis 3 flights and hotel: $450

I will release the full Genesis 3 mini-doc series even if this amount isn't reached. However, I would like to make back some of the money from the trip. $450 does not cover all of the trip expenses, but covers most of it.

3. Super Smash Con 2016 flights and hotel: $400

SSC will be the next big major for 64 I plan on going to. There are rumors that a few top players from Peru will be there, which will mark the first time they have come to North America to compete. $400 does not cover all of my trip expenses, but covers most of it.

4. Audio Equipment (Lavalier/Shotgun Mics): $150

My entire audio equipment consists of one handheld mic. Lavalier and/or shotgun mics will help improve my audio going forward.

*If less than $850, but more than $450 is raised before SSC, then I will donate the extra money to the International Player Fund
(http://funding.onlinessb.com/).

*If at least $850 is raised, then I will be going to SSC to create video content.

*Should we pass the goal of $1000, all of the extra money will go to helping fund my trips to future majors and creating more video content from leftover footage. Potential 64 majors that I will look at going to with the extra money include Shine 2016 and SnOsA 2016. Other projects may also include documenting some of the biggest 64 local scenes. I will provide an update on where the extra money will be going to if we exceed our goal.
