The Journey Home 2013: KENYA
Hello Friends and Family
I've decided to embark on a Mission
Turning 30 was a major change in my life. It was not like any other birthday I had, it was an eye opener to who I am and what I have become over the years. What I realize is that with age comes wisdom (for some) and with this wisdom I realize that my goals, aspirations, desires and dreams are still vivid and alive. So I decided to embark on a mission to reeducate, reevaluate and relive my life. A close friend of mine introduced me to MoCADA, who's mission is to rediscover valuable African cultural traditions that were lost through colonization and the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and to foster a dynamic space for the creation of the continuous evolution of culture. When I heard they were going to Kenya for this journey home I had to jump on the opportunity. With that said...I'm going. So I humbly, humbly, ask if you can assist me on my journey to the Mother Land.

A Journey Home
I wish to journey to a place called Home where my ancestor's spirits thrive. A journey back to the birthplace of civilization, a Nation, a World a place of art, culture, harmony where wildlife is life. Where the Mountain Peaks peeks over the world. I wish to embrace that moment like my first kiss on the cheek. I wish to dwell with the people of Mombasa, Nairobi, Eldoret and Lodwar, and learn how to walk like the Maasai Warriors. Wish to relearn my history that has been confined to the shackles of the past seeking the scent of my Mothers Land My Fathers Land and when I arrive I will kiss the African Earth as I'm welcomed back to the womb in which we was birthed. I want to hear our drums echo to the ancestral heartbeat feeding into the ritualistic freedom beat that speaks to my heartbeat. I want to share the vision of my ancestors that guides me as I confide in She. Listening to the My Mother Land whispering to me sharing ancestral secrets awakening passion that has abandoned me for land locked shadows that smother me for I cannot breathe without the taste of the land. I wish to be free again can you help me reach the Mother Land?
