<div>My name is Erica, I live in the United States, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Tahani, who is currently living with her family in a tent in Gaza. Our hope is that they will receive enough funds to have their basic needs covered (which is currently very expensive to do in Gaza-- even more so than other places in the world) and also gain enough funds to get them out of Gaza when the Rafah crossing reopens. Here is Tahani's message:

<div>"I am Tahani from Gaza. I am 48 years old. I lost my home and my family and I were displaced to the outskirts of Rafah. I do not have anything but a tent to live in and that is not suitable for us to live long-term. My family and I live in a very bad conditions, like extreme heat, starvation, and lack of clean drinking water, and our lives are at risk. We are exposed to bombing and random shells every day. my only hope is that my family and I will survive this to make a better life someday.

<div>In addition to the difficulties with shelter, my husband is diabetic and we do not have access to treatment or the appropriate foods for his condition. My son lost access to his education. He completed high school last year and dreamed of going to university, but unfortunately the war destroyed everything. My daughter lost one child to the war and her other young daughter was, and continues to be, exposed to severe psychological trauma. She asks me frequently, 'when the war will end??' My daughter was also preparing for her wedding, but the war also deprived her and our family of that great joy. I hope you can help our family survive, so we can live these moments in the future."
