Imagine a world where families in need can enjoy the holidays without worrying about where their meal is coming from
The Toronto Power Group is committed to having an impact on the lives of people in our community, all while empowering humanity to passionately help those in need through compassion and support.
We believe that every family deserves to have food on the table to feed their children and that no child should ever go hungry, especially during the holidays, when some families are able to feast in gratitude.
Our Commitment:
For the past 5 years, we’ve personally delivered Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets to families in need, delivering 110 baskets last Thanksgiving and 200 baskets over Easter earlier this year!
This Thanksgiving, we are committed to delivering 400 dinner baskets to families in need around the GTA, to provide an experience where they can enjoy Thanksgiving together around a dinner table.
We’ve also partnered with a Basket Brigade Canada, a registered charity who will be feeding an additional 1735 families across the country, in addition to 400 families we will supporting across the GTA.
Our Plan:
Working with a group of volunteers to join our team on Friday October 5th and Saturday October 6th, 2018; all food will be purchased on Friday and delivered to a select location where our volunteer team will start assembling each dinner basket with one full turkey dinner!
After the dinner baskets have been assembled, we will have groups of volunteers personally hand delivering them to families in need around the city.
How can you help?
Each Thanksgiving Dinner basket costs $50, so to make this a blessed Thanksgiving for 400 families, we will need to fundraise $20,000!
We’re already off to a great start, with Best Selling Personal Finance Author Calum Ross generously offering to feed over 200 families with a contribution of $10,000. Now, we need your help to raise the remaining $5,000 for the families who are counting on us (any monetary donations will have tax receipts issued). Your support will go a long way in creating an impact, one meal, one family, one kid at a time.
Our Team:
We will be engaging communities to come together and make a difference. Our team of volunteers comprise of various individuals within the community, including youth groups and families with children who are passionate about having an impact on their communities and neighbourhoods.
If you would like to be a part of our volunteer team and help make an impact in your community this Thanksgiving, we’d love to have you on board. We’re looking for 200 volunteers to help assemble dinner baskets or driver & deliver dinner baskets around Toronto!

10 lbs Turkey
1 bag of potatoes
1 box of stuffing
1 can of cranberry sauce
2 cans of peas
2 cans of beans
1 can of gravy
thyme
head of garlic
1 whole lemon
1 whole onion
multigrain bread
butter
1 pumpkin pie
1 bag of carrots
1 basket

"I was very, very, very thankful for the basket. I could not believe my eyes when I saw what was in the basket. Everything was so nice, and you must care because you put the note and the recipe in. This was my first thanksgiving in Canada, and I followed the recipe to a tee – it was a beautiful dinner for my family – my husband was very pleased and impressed. I was so thankful, I was crying"

"I receive a lot of help from different agencies, but the basket you delivered actually flabbergasted me and I actually cried - real tears, real crying - I felt such love and care.”
