Teryle's Daughters Funeral Fund

Donation protected

Teryle and Jean Nielsen had tragedy strike not once, but twice last year.  They were parents of 2 daughters Kelli Jo and Lori Ann, and of course, very close to both of them throughout their lives.  Lori was married with a daughter of her own, Vicki.

Due to the financial hardship of the region in central Utah, they all live together in one house in Mayfield, Utah.  Teryle had a stroke and suffers from C.O.P D. so he has been disabled for many years.  Jean worked as a nurse assistant at a local nursing home.  Kelli worked as a part-time custodian at a local school. Lori’s husband Mark has only been able to work part-time in several locations around the area.

The first tragedy struck early last year when Lori was killed in an auto accident, which was witnessed by her daughter and husband.  The whole family was impacted by this event especially her daughter Vicki.

Kelli stepped in and took over in the daily mothering of her, helping her through this emotional time.  Then on December 19th, 2014, Teryle went in to Kelli’s room and found her cold body in bed.  She had passed during the night from aspiration of vomitus due to the flu she had contracted.

Jean had been ill as well and when told of the death of her remaining daughter, she collapsed and was rushed to the local hospital.  Her condition critical, she was transported north to Provo to a large medical center.  She was comatose for 16 days and on life support.  It was touch and go, but she pulled through and spent another week in a rehab facility before returning home.

Teryle was and still is very depressed, but thankful that his wife has survived. Now the reality has hit.  Still paying for funeral expenses for Lori, they now have the added expense of Kelli’s burial, as well as the raising of their granddaughter Vicki.

The sisters have been laid to rest in their hometown cemetery of Mayfield, which has a beautiful setting in the foothills of the Manti Lasal National Forest.

The need for individual grave marked headstones is also an expense that has yet to be undertaken, even for Lori who was laid to rest almost a year ago.

The family has done all we can to help, but assistance is still needed and is greatly appreciated.

If you have the opportunity to donate,  please do so. This is truly for a worthy cause and you will definitely feel good about helping, as well as be in our prayers.

Thank you in advance for assistance.
