Support Terri's battle with cancer

In early June of 2017, Terri Dean, the smiling face, and co-owner with her fiancé Sean of Sully’s Muskoka Gourmand Food Truck, a local dental hygienist, Mom to be, sister, daughter, and kindred spirit, was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the age of 36, and five months pregnant with their first child. Terri and Sean were shocked. They went from the joys and excitement of being first time parents and new business owners, to a future of uncertainty.

People who have met Terri would describe her as kind, warm hearted, with an incredible smile, and contagious laugh. She has a calm presence about her and even during this difficult time, remains positive, constantly reassuring concerned family and friends. Her strength is something to admire.

Even with this unexpected diagnosis Terri continued to work and care for her clinical patients. After her first surgery and two weeks of recovery, she returned to work, clearly in discomfort by the end of the day, but showed no weakness and never complained. Terri has since had a second surgery, and with upcoming treatment is unable to continue working. On top of appointments for her cancer treatments, she is also under the care of a special pre-natal team in Toronto to monitor the health of their unborn baby.

With travel costs, parking fee’s, medication (not covered through OHIP), no personal health insurance, and a baby on the way. I feel as family, friends, colleagues, patients of Terri’s, and food lovers of Sully’s Muskoka Gourmand food truck, we can come together to help ease the stress of these costs for this young deserving couple.
