RIH Terrell Whitted

Last night, on Halloween, Terrell convinced his wife to go with him to the Haunted House after dinner--nobody knew that God had other plans for Terrell's evening.

Before they could even get past the entrance of the attraction, Terrell began to have an asthma attack. His inhaler wasn't helping any, though, so his wife called 911. By the time they got there, Terrell could barely breathe...they put him on a stretcher in the ambulance and gave him oxygen through a tube in his throat. After about 10 minutes, he seemed to be doing better so they took him to the hospital.

To my understanding, this is when the tables turned...before long, Terrell had gone into cardiac arrest. The food he had just eaten for dinner was trying to come up but because of the anxiety and panic of not being able to breathe, it had no where to go but into Terrell's lungs. The doctors pumped his lungs to try to get everything out, but it was too late--Terrell's wings had already taken flight.

Terrell was a dear friend...all through junior high and high school, he was the one GUARANTEED to make you feel better. He had jokes for DAYS and a heart of GOLD. And EVERY SINGLE YEAR that we hosted our annual Alumni BBQ, there was NO QUESTION that Terrell would be somewhere on the grill.

He leaves behind his wife and children--the youngest of which was probably the MOST dependent on him--"Daddy's baby", he'd always say...because his wife went into premature labor, Little Miss August was born with health complications that have her depending on a machine. Mommy stopped working during the pregnancy and hasn't been able to work since, so Terrell took on the sole responsible of caring for his family in every way he knew how to. They have been playing catch up on bills, and the last two things they have been working on catching up on is their rent and their electric bill.

All donations collected will go to his wife, Ashley Jackson, to help catch up on the rent and electric bill while supplying some extra cushion for her and the children to be able to survive until they can move past the mourning of Terrell's untimely passing.

Let's come together and show his family just how much we love & appreciate our beloved Terrell.
