Teresa Martin can best be described as a guardian angel. She is founder and architect of “Lost and Found Pets of the MidSouth”, a popular Facebook page dedicated to reuniting lost pets with their owners. Since first creating the page, she has orchestrated the reunion of hundreds of pets with their families. What is her secret? The answer lies in education and watchful eyes. Everyone who posts to her Facebook page gets a personal message giving specific instructions on what to do in order to find his or her pet. She never forgets a dog or cat once she's seen its photo.
Teresa is also a dedicated rescuer and facilitator of rescues with nothing more than an army of one. Nearly 400 dogs have passed through her loving hands in the last year alone. She personally pulled and facilitated the recent rescue of 23 dogs from a high-kill county shelter in rural MS. Without help from local governments, she forged a relationship with the Animal Control Officer and singlehandedly managed to convert the city pound into NO KILL by pulling every single dog she was contacted about.
In addition to shelter dogs, she has rescued countless dogs in extreme conditions with severe mange, who are starving and near death. Her work is admired by everyone she knows. This isn't an easy job and besides that, there's no pay or benefits other than the reward that comes with doing something awe inspiring.
