Team Bob's fight against G.B.S

Team Bob is looking to help ease the financial burden facing him during his difficult recovery. We want him to focus on his health and learning to walk again. He is without income since this started and will not return to work until he recovers, with Guillain- Barre syndrome there are no recovery timeframes.  He is being told that recovery could take months to years. We are asking you for your support  to help with co-pays,  out of pocket medical expenses, medications and all the living modifications that will need to be done to his home when he is able to return home. Bob's story can be found on Caringbridge by clicking the  link below:

Bobs diagnosis of Guillain-Barre Syndrome came on December 11th, 2014. Guillain-Barre (gee-YAH-buh-RAY) syndrome is a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves.
These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body. The exact cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome is unknown. There's no known cure for Guillain-Barre syndrome, but several treatments can ease symptoms and reduce the duration of the illness.

Bob started having left arm weakness on Wednesday December 10, 2014. By the next morning he was taken by ambulance to Ridges Hospital in Burnsville due to extreme weakness and paralysis in both arms/hands and legs/feet. After a CT scan, spinal tap and many other tests the doctors had come to the conclusion he had Guillain-Barre's Syndrome. On Friday night they started IVIG treatments to reduce the symptoms. Saturday morning Bob’s condition continued to decline.  Early that afternoon they rushed him to the ICU at the University of Minnesota as they specialize in Neurology.

Bob was released from the University of Minnesota and transferred to Fairview Riverside Acute Rehab, where he stayed for 30 days. While at Fairview Bob started regaining the use of his arms, but has a long road ahead in his recovery process with his legs.  Bob has now been transferred to Courage Kenny Transitional Rehab where he continues to work on being able to walk again.
