Violet Olivia Walde is a cute, energetic 22 month old girl who enjoys reading, singing, playing at the park and spending time with her family and friends. On October 8th, 2014, Violet became ill with a rare and dangerous form of E. coli. She was hospitalized where doctors determined she had Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS).

This debilitating illness grows by attacking and destroying red blood cells. As more of Violet's blood cells broke down, the resulting flood of debris started to overload her kidneys. The illness has left this once active girl in a hospital bed, stiff and in constant pain. Since then, Violet and her family have been living in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. This has been a difficult road for Violet, who is recovering very slowly. As a result of her illness it is likely she will remain in the hospital for a few more weeks. And even when she is determined healthy enough for discharge, Violet will need a lot of medical and emotional support from those that love her.

It will be difficult for Violet and her family to stay afloat financially due to the lengthy hospital stay, time away from work and Violet's medical needs after discharge. If you are able, please contribute to Team Violet. Help them get back on their feet and focus on the most important thing--strengthening their family and supporting Violet in her recovery.
