I am moved to tell you the story of my dear friend, Tonya Tyus Parker who is a wife, mother, grandmother, advocate, and friend of many in the community.
Tonya is a giver and loves to serve others. She’s the kind of friend who is there no matter what, to be sure everything is okay. You know the kind of friend who just makes life better!
I have images of Tonya sharing her passions and stories of helping the homeless and those who were just on the brink of disaster when Tonya showed up. She shared her passions for getting others back on track to again re-enter the workforce through her inspiring life skills coaching and training.
She’s a true sister and saint, some may say for her extraordinary heart and love for others with special needs for over 30 years
Tonya is now in need and as a community, we are sharing her story to inspire others to get involved and help us. You see, Tonya received the news from her doctors that she has cancer, a Multiple Myeloma.
She’s so strong and is not letting this take her down, as she’s coached so many others to move on no matter what the circumstances.
The reality is, Tonya needs a bone marrow transplant which her doctors believe could extend her life by another 10 – 15 years. She’s not about to give up her passions for helping others and now she needs our help.
This is where you come in.
The need for funds is urgent so that Tonya can receive the bone marrow transplant she desperately needs to save her life.
We have put up this page to raise $50,000 to cover the bone marrow transplant and the special care she will need. This funding will cover the costs for 24/7 care for 4 months, 2 months in a hotel near her doctors, a specialized sterile living and food prep and an administrative nurse to coordinate with her doctors and the transplant team.
The transplant will be her miracle and give her life back so she can continue to inspire and serve others, as she always has.
