I am starting this campaign for my very brave step dad, Christopher Lieurance. He is an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend.
July of 2016, Chris admitted himself into the ER after feeling very sick. During that visit we were blown away with horrible news that forever changed our lives. He was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer that metastasized to his lungs.
In September of last year, Chris had his kidney removed and continued to go to work every day while on Chemo. This man is TRULY the strongest man I know. It has been almost a year since we have been fighting the nodules in his lungs.
We recently learned that one of those nasty nodules aggressively grew from 1.7 cm in April to 4.7 cm in June. Last week we were told that it has now grown to be over 10 cm in less than 60 days.
After multiple procedures, treatments and clinical trials, we are now attempting radiation and immunotherapy. The results are devastating, leaving him unable to work.
It is heartbreaking to see him in so much pain every day while suffering from severe side effects. He is a true warrior and still fighting the fight.
If you know Chris, you know he is a very strong, loving and proud man. He would NEVER ask for help, especially financially. The stress of not being able to work and the bills piling up are a lot for anyone to handle, but even more so for someone who is battling an aggressive stage 4 cancer. Literally battling for your LIFE.
