501c3 Status
As of May 25th, we are making our final push with the finalization of the 501c3 non-profit status. We are about 80% of the way through the legal paperwork and will be looking to complete the final 20% in the coming month. Thank you for all of your support and patience over the years.
Appropriation of Funds
100% of all funds on this GoFundMe page have been prioritized to hosting TeamLYD events. No donations were used for the legal 501c3 filing or other related activities.
JDRF One Walk for a Cure Donations
Each year, we split the donations gathered through our annual Tank Top booster with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and TeamLYD. We have split funds 50/50 over the previous years. However, last year we donated 100% of the funds to benefit the JDRF as they step up development of the Artificial Pancreas. For 2017, we will be splitting donations 50/50.

My Story
In September of 2013, I created an organization called, Team Live Your Dream (TeamLYD). After being diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes at the age of 18, I had a difficult time balancing my thirst for adventure and my management of diabetes. After graduating with my Masters in Public Health and the completion of a fellowship at a pediatric surgical innovation institute, I wanted to create an organization that could help newly diagnosed children and adolescents conquer their diabetes and help them over come any fears that they had with managing their condition.
My message is simple: "Don't let Type-1 Diabetes put your life on hold. Live your dream! Celebrate life! Do the impossible!" Team Live Your Dream was created to show these children how.

Team Live Your Dream (TeamLYD) is a community of health professionals and athletes who, through direct medical support, experiential diabetes education, and mentorship, help young people recently diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes to overcome obstacles and realize their dreams.
Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to inspire, empower and encourage young people recently diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes to dream big! Through challenging team-based adventures, we aim to inspire confidence in our participants' abilities to manage diabetes and realize their dreams!
