June's Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

My Mom June was diagnosed with stage 3 inoperable Pancreatic Cancer in September of 2012. It is difficult to know what to do and I know for myself, I felt helpless. I’m turning it around and taking my worry and grief and focusing on what my parent’s needs are. I started Team June to support this battle Mom is fighting. We have had many friends and family donate which has helped immensely. Mom has always been the most generous, faithful and loving person I know. She’s my hero. After 18 years of marriage, I went through a divorce finding myself a single Mom of three. I was living in North Carolina and my parent’s lived in California. Both of them moved here to be part of our lives and to help me with my children. Because of them I was able to obtain my education and I have been working at a Law Firm for 3 years. My Dad has been the sole caretaker of my Mom since the illness. He prepares the meals, gives her tube feedings, grocery shops, takes care of the house, yard and taking her to her weekly trips to Atlanta at the Cancer Treatment Center of America for her chemotherapy. Their car has 200,000 miles on it and I worry it won’t last much longer and is unsafe. With my Dads Social Security and Mom’s Disability, they are struggling. Mom has over 25 medications a month.
