Team Jovi "We Fight as ONE!

Jovan X. Caraballo, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma last year, January 6th, 2013 when doctors discovered a malignant tumor in his left femur bone. He under went chemotherapy from February thru October.  Jovan has been thru numerous procedures and major surgery. Last April 24, 2013, Jovan had the entire left femur resected, along with his knee and a portion of the bone under his knee. He spent 6 weeks at a rehab center where he had to relearn basic motor skills like the ones you teach a toddler. How to stand, how to walk, how to put on his socks and sneakers! Things you do daily without even thinking about it he had to relearn.

Jovan is the youngest of 3 children, he is now 15 years old.

Jovan has been very fortunate and has a strong circle of family and friends who are now known as Team Jovi!!!
And We Fight as ONE!!

Sadly, after being cleared this past October 2013, Jovan is battling cancer once more.  His journey has not ended.  More tumors have developed, and he needs more extensive treatment. He began chemo on February 27th, a far more aggressive treatment.  Unfortunately this treatment did not work.  Jovan will be taking part in several clinical trials in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Columbia University until we find a treatment that works.  Eventually he will need numerous surgeries as well.  Aside from the medical treatment, he needs alot of support, mentally and emotionally.  After all he is just a boy.

Please keep my Jovi (aka Iron Man) in your positive thoughts and prayers so he can overcome this battle.

After numerous clinical trials, some very painful treatments, and days & nights of nausea and illness,  Jovan has decided to end all treatments and spend the rest of his days at home with his family.   In December 2014 Jovan was placed in hospice care.

Jovan spent the holidays with his family and friends.  On January 24th 2015 our Iron Man became our Iron Angel.  He gained his golden wings and is suffering no longer.  His services were held a week later where over 400 family and friends gathered to honor our Iron Angel.  We honored his wishes and all wore our Team Jovi shirts and Batman shirts!  I know he was looking down upon us with a smile.

I have decided to keep his Gofundme page  active in hopes that any donation made can help with his medical bills.

Any donation made is greatly appreciated.

We thank you in advance!! :)
